Introduction

Liverpool were pleased to appoint RAINGOD as manager earlier in the week, as they look to build on their successes of recent seasons.
RAINGOD is happy with the squad he has inherited, but has insisted the squad does need work if it is to be successful, and he intends to make his mark on it over the season. A number of players have already been circulated for sale or loan, and all players (excluding Capt & Vice) will always be available at the right price!

His preferred formation of 3-6-1 does not sit very well with a team that has a solid back 4 of great defenders and 3 world class strikers! It will be interesting to see how this evolves over the season!

No surprises with the appointment of VVD as skipper for the season, being the best player in the league! TAA as vice was more of a surprise, but it is felt the extra responsibility will help him to become the best he possibly can be.

They have already signed up to a lucrative deal with British Airways, with pay outs directly linked to winning matches, demonstrating Liverpool will be looking to make an immediate impact in this new league …

4 games, 4 victories, 100% record. Raingod is extremely happy with how his squad have worked together and listened to his ideas about how he wants them to play.

A comfortable 1-0 win against Madrid kicked off the pre-season schedule, with JC (does the ‘j’ stand for jealous??) trying to pick fights with Liverpool in the media ever since, something Liverpool have chosen to rise above…

A 2-0 win at Zenit was a tough trip but great for team bonding. This was followed up by victories at Borisov and then Thessaloniki.

There is a squad of players who will be used regularly throughout the season, whilst a couple of exciting youngsters will come in on occasion as part of their development.

3 players are out on loan, getting ready to play a part in season 2, whilst a further 3 are at the development league.

Only a couple of significant transfers, but finally Gomez has left as expected, with Davies arriving with a load of £ for further transfer activity! Raingod has made it clear that every player has a price and he is always happy to entertain offers!

With the Elite League now fully managed, a tough yet exciting season is expected!

Good luck to all (well most!) of the managers!

So not the start that Liverpool planned – yes we are unbeaten, but at the same time we have yet to win!! Three 1-1 draws so far, although to be fair the fixtures computer did start us off against 3 very difficult opponents.

Cup wise, we received a bye in the cup which was at the time disappointing as a good opportunity for match fitness – however given the slow start perhaps it’s best to have avoided a potential giant-killing! A home tie to AS Roma in Round 2 is a tricky one but with home advantage the fans will expect progression to the next round of the competition.

Squad wise not much to report so far – Patric the only main signing who has settled in well. Most disappointing has been the full backs – TAA & Robbo are yet to set the world alight, even in the last game where a 5 man defence was tried to allow them extra freedom. Perhaps the Vice Captaincy is too much for TAA? Rumour has it that Robbo was offered to Arsenal in a swap for Tierney but it was turned down.

With plenty of players out on loan and at the Development League, there is less activity at present, but Raingod is a firm believer he is here for the long term so must get everything set up for the future …

July Review

An unbeaten month, but not the start we hoped for with just one win and three draws in the league.

Successful progression in the League Cup, a bye followed by a tight 1-0 win over Roma.

Player of the month: The Ox has been a revelation in midfield, playing either on his own or with one partner. He has been the key link up between defence and attack, and while every player has his price I don’t believe anyone would offer enough for us to consider selling him at this time.

Young Player of the Month: TAA really improved his form throughout the month, and has added attacking play to his defensive duties.

Goal of the month: Salah’s winner against Athletio in Match Day 4 – just after half time, with the game poised at 1-1, with a speedy run past the defender and then a cheeky left foot finish! It gave the team a lift and the confidence to go on and win the game!

Signing of the month: 17 year old striker Blair has been highly sought after and Liverpool beat off a host of others to secure his signature, and this has given the club and fans a real boost!

LOAN WATCH

1. Clyne to Levadia

Played 10, 10 key tackles, 1 key pass, 1 shot, 4 dips.

As first choice defender, Clyne has played most games in what is a struggling, unmanaged team, who sit 9th out of 10 in the league, so are at risk of exiting the competition at the end of the season.
Clyne’s performances have been mixed – not enough to worry TAA about his position for next season so far ….

2. Keita to Celtic

Played 13, 28 key passes, 2 shot, 1 dip.

Despite the managerial merry go round at Celtic – with Skitz as caretaker followed by Graham and now David H, Keita has got his career off to a good start in a Celtic team that is expected to push for promotion this season, currently 4pts off 2nd placed Lyon in the Adidas League.

3.  Shaqiri to Lazio

Played 11, 27 key passes, 24 shots, 1 goal, 2 assists.

Comfortably playing in the contracted 80% of games, Shaqiri has been instrumental in Lazio’s rise to 2nd in the Mitre Division, and has openly spoken about the impact working for an experienced manager like Daz has had on his game.

4. Lovren to Ajax

Played 4, 5 key tackles, 2 key passes, 2 shots.

Disappointing failure by Skitz to stick to the terms of the agreement – to appear in 70% of matches.  A strongly worded letter of intent has been sent to Ajax, warning them of this breach, as well as reminding them that he is not eligible to play against Liverpool in the Quarter Finals of the Cup.

Rumour has it that Skitz brought Lovren to the club simply so he could draw on Raingod’s managerial experience …

5 Adrian to Basel?

In negotiations …

As Liverpool approach the mid-season break, change is afoot at Liverpool …

Ben Davies has been loaned out on a short term basis to AC Milan who have a crisis at left back. Davis has not had the game time expected since his move from Spurs, and on his full debut had to come off with injury! Raingod says he has a long term future at Liverpool, and this is purely to give him some more match time.

This is now the 5th loan deal – so Adrian to Basel can no longer happen.

The other 4 loan deals are all expected to run to the end of the season, except Lovren at Ajax who has not been given the agreed % game time. A final warning has been issued to Skitz informing him that Lovren’s loan deal will be cancelled if he fails to start this weekend.

A lack of offers for Mane was extremely surprising – and Mane has proved his desire to stay at the club and be successful with them, so has been removed from the transfer list.

17 year old Paskotsi has also been transfer listed – he has great potential but is simply too far down the pecking order – a value of £50m + has been placed on him.

August Review

The Liverpool board are extremely pleased with their start to the season, sitting proudly at the top of a competitive Elite League, and still in the cup!

With 4 league wins from 5 in August, we are pleased at how we have developed more of a cutting edge to kill teams off.

August started badly with a 3-0 defeat by Real Madrid, who Steve T left shortly afterwards, not giving Raingod the chance to avenge later in the season!

Player of the month:  Fans favourite Salah gets the accolade this month as he has been the main influencer in terms of both scoring and creating goals.

Young Player of the Month
: TAA has developed strongly after a quiet start to the season – and Raingod has said he is happy to play 4 at the back (vs. his preferred 352) when he has such great players as him!

Disappointment of the month: The Real defeat was a shocker but it spurred us on to a run of 5 consecutive wins. So the disappointment has been 17 year old Blair’s slow start at the club – he will have a big future but is currently struggling to get on the bench.

Goal of the month:  Salah’s goal just before half time against AC in the cup – after a great pass from Hendo - gave us a platform to build on, and was the perfect antidote after the Real  defeat.

Signing of the month: No signings, as Liverpool work with the squad they have.

**BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS**

Sadio Mane has suddenly left Liverpool today, dropping down a division to help Napoli move from mid-table obscurity to challenging for promotion and/ or a European place!!

Rumour has it of a major bust up in the dressing room, with Mane not keen on Raingod’s meticulous planning approach for games. It came to a head when he was very disruptive in a tactical session and the other players all backed the manager.

There were 3 identical offers for Mane – who chose Napoli as the best opportunity.

This means Blair should now get more opportunities up front, and Origi should be in the squad every game on the bench at least.

The midfield has had a real refresh in the mid-season break – African midfielder Maiga joins the squad in the player draw, and was Liverpool’s 3rd choice pick who they were pleasantly surprised to get considering they were at the back of the queue.

**BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS 2** Liverpool tonight signed youngster Izconil on a 4 year deal – the 18 year old can play anywhere across the midfield and is a real attacking threat ..

Further deals are being worked on as Liverpool look to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

September  Review

The mid-season break saw only 3 league matches in the month of September – Liverpool won all 3 against  Man City, Dortmund & Bayern to sit 5 points clear at the top with a 3rd of the season remaining.
The month did end on a sour note though, drawing with Ajax in the Cup QF and exiting on penalties …

Player of the month:  Blair has now settled into the frontline, starting most weeks and starting to score regularly with a goal in each match this month ..

Young Player of the Month: As 17 year old Blair won Player of the Month, Izconil gets Young Player of the Month as he has put in strong performances in the midfield ..

Disappointment of the month: Has to be losing in the lottery of penalties against Ajax

Goal of the month:  Blairs overhead scissors kick to take a 2-0 lead against Man City, who were just behind us in the table at the time – so a crucial goal as well as an amazing one!

Signing of the month: Izconil – securing Young POTM in his first month – and attracting a laughable £150m bid from PSG …

LOAN WATCH UPDATE

1. Clyne to Levadia Tallinn

Played 16, 16key tackles, 1 key pass, 1 shot, 1 assist, 5 dips.

On the plus side, they have climbed out of the bottom 2 with a 3 point cushion from the drop zone.

Clyne has played in most games – but performances suggest that this is closer to his level than that of Liverpool.

2. Keita to Celtic

Played 20, 52 key passes, 4 shots, 2 assists, 1 dip.

Strong set of performances that has helped see Celtic just 3 points off the top 3. Suggests he could have a future at ‘Pool, but the roaming TAA may always overshadow right midfielders

3.  Shaqiri to Lazio

Played 17, 37 key passes, 33shots, 3 goals, 4 assists.

Really coming into form for the crucial end of season run in, with 2 goals and assists in his last 6 games.

4. Lovren to Ajax

Only 1 further game since the last update – Skitz has broken the terms of the agreement so he has been recalled and will end the season at Lisbon

5 Davies to AC Milan

A recent short term move to help Werewilf out that seems to be working well – Davies getting regular game time, and AC Milan are moving up the table – though Roma and Lazio look to have sown up the top 2 slots for the season …

October Review

An abysmal month – after losing just 1 match all season, we lost 3 matches out of 5 in October!! From sitting pretty at the top 5 points clear, we are now looking as outsiders to win the league. Even on the last day of the month, a victory over Inter would have put us in pole position, but we lost …

Player of the month: Alisson has been strong in goal despite the poor results and kept us in matches ..

Young Player of the Month: Blair continues to justify his inclusion up front, and he is not overawed pairing up with Neymar & Salah!

Disappointment of the month: That no one is putting news up – come on guys, makes the game more interesting!!

Goal of the month:  Salah winning header v Real – after 3 games out with injury ..

Signing of the month: Neymar just before the deadline .. legend!

November Review

Only 4 matches this month - with the disappointing 0-0 end to the season vs PSG - followed by 3 x 1-0 Pre Season Freindly Cup games ...

Player of the month: The Ox, with 8 key passes already in just 3 games this season - despite all the superstars he is a key member of the team ...

Young Player of the Month: Izconil has enjoyed life on the wing and has recently signed a SIX year contract - to stop Matt H keep offering for him .. a restraining order has also been taken out ...

Disappointment of the month: Coming 2nd rather than 1st - it was close!

Goal of the month:  Last night's delicate Blair chip as the winner vs Atalanta ...

Signing of the month: Dele Alli - to partner up with Pogba !!!!!!!!!!!!!

After nearly a month of no club media posts by other managers, tempted by the 7 days of Xmas bonuses, Raingod leads the way once again with a media update with no presents attached ...

January has seen a new look defence in play at Liverpool as they look to build for the future.

Robbo left in the close season, and the LB spot has been shared by Davies and Williams. Davies has never really settled at the club or made the position his own, so a deal was secured with Arsenal for young Saka. Ex-manager Hatchza was reluctant to sell the youngsters in previous discussions - so Raingod pounced when he had the chance. Despite a red card on his debut, big things are expected ...

Then yesterday, a deal was struck with Juve for De Ligt .. with Patric plus a load of cash going the other way - ironic as the 2 sides play each other this weekend!

Final big deal was Raingod raiding his ex club Atalanta of young striker Nuwedorp .. after a long drawn out negotation over playing minutes, he joins in time for the weekend.

Finally, with Adrian leaving as part of the Nuwedorp deal, Liverpool have no players in their squad over 30 .. not only do we have the strongest squad in the league, but we are set for the long term..

Liverpool Mid Season Review:

Played 21: Won 15 Drawn 2 Lost 6

The Liverpool board are happy with how they have performed thus far in Season 2.

We sit at the top of the league, on goal difference from Roma, with Ajax, Bayern & Juve all within a win of us - so finely poised!

We are also still in the 2 Cup competitions - through to the 3rd round of the League Cup, and have qualified for the World Club Trophy Quarter Finals.

The Squad has seen a major overhaul since finishing runners up in Season 1.

In fact, since the start of season 1 there are only 4 main players still at the club in VVD, TAA, The Ox, and Salah.

There are 8 teenagers in the squad to learn from the experienced players - and in reality there are not many transfer targets that would improve the XVI available to us.

We are also developing for the future, with a full complement at the Development League and 5 players out on loan.

Mid season awards are:

Player of half one - Neymar - his crucial goals have delivered many a result.

Young player of half one - Neco Williams - close season signing who has played LB, RB, CB in a back 4 as well as a 3rd CB.

With various new managers joining EFLO, and all teams managed in the Elite League, the second half of Season 2 will be a challenging one!
