Perth Glory - Atletico Madrid

Atletico have arrived in Australia ahead of a game where we can relax having already qualified for the next stage. Whilst a long journey is never ideal it is great it came after the mid season break that has seen a lot of change at the club. As a result we have 5 debutants in the side with another 2 on the bench so we're hoping this means a more positive second half of the season. Whilst form in the cups has been good we need to use this game to prepare ourselves for the next league game. However it is a bit harsh that a 24 hour flight back to Europe will leave us short of time and jet lagged for this weekends games. We go with 2 strikers in this game with new signing Pedro coming in to partner captain João Felix, with exciting new defender and future captain Ji-soo Park lining up at the back. In midfield we have prodigy Anrovic who starts as the holding midfielder with Kieran Tierney our second Kieran full back in the side slotting in at left back. If we can start to find form and score goals then we'll get things back on track.

Flamengo - Valencia

A really tough trip to South America in a game we need a point from to qualify, against all the odds. If we don't get what we need we can hold our heads up high as it has been astonishing to still be in the mix at this stage. We're comforted by the fact our form has been better away from home so we're hopeful of a positive result. We have a full strength squad to choose from so go with our usual cup formation of 5-4-1 with Coquelin being the key anchor man in midfield. Innocenti starts up top on his own in a role he relishes so hopefully he can get the goals needed to send us through. We're excited about the game but somewhat nervous so hopefully we can see ourselves across the line. Cleverly the manager raided Flamengo for their star player Pedro in the mid-season break with his other club Atletico Madrid in order to weaken them for this game. Time will tell if that sneaky tactic will pay off.

Seattle_Sounders - Liverpool

Qualification safely secured .. but we are unbeaten in 7 and aim to keep the run going.

We continue to refresh as we go and utilise the full squad - Salah doesnt travel for this fixture, with Blair getting a chance on the bench after vigorous mid-season training.

Pogba drops to bench as not 100% fit, leaving Fabinho to occupy DM, and both TAA & The Ox Return.

Only one point to secure top spot, but we want to go for all 3 - to send a clear message of intent to the other teams ...

Guangzhou Evergrande Vs Ajax Amsterdam

The mid season break wasn’t a chance for downtime for Ajax, with 10 of the first team squad going through their paces with additional training to an already slick outfit. With qualification already assured and an away game at Athletico to come at the weekend it’s an almost second string line up for Ajax, with Lacazette the only man keeping his place in the starting line up. Eekklenkamp has a great chance to impress from number 8, and young winger Marega and number 9 Traore will be hoping to give Skittles a selection headache for the weekend. When these sides met earlier in the season it was a 2-0 victory for Ajax and despite naming a changed side, victory is still the aim.
