We play our first match since joining the Nike league in the mid season break. Although the fans were hoping for a glamourous friendly against Juventus they have end up with Greek opposition that should provide less of a test. That said, the result is not important but is about seeing what our players can do. A number of signings have taken place over recent weeks and with our auction purchase still to come we're happy with the balance of the squad, although another striker is being searched for. David Browne's days are numbered but with no club yet to show an interest, his agent has been asked to try and force a move. We go with a 4-5-1 formation although it is expected that 4-4-2 will be preferred in the league such has been the success at Valencia with that. Marquee signing Anthony Martial therefore has to wait for his chance as he starts the game on the bench.

Red Star Belgrade v Celtic

A new era kicks off at Red Star with a pre season game against tough Scottish opponents Celtic. The Adidas team will be a stern test. They have picked a mixture off new signings and existing players.  D_Dumfries, Diakhaby and R_Petretta make debuts in defence along with midfielders Morlanes and M_Asensio who partner up with fellow Spaniard Koke. E_Nketiah gets the nod as striker ahead off Arp and Bozenik. A_Katic also gets his first start a new no 1.


Atalanta v Schalke

Schalke take on Atlanta with squad players getting a run out. With extra fixtures this season it’s important that players get much needed game time.
One off those is J_Weigl the new German ace who makes his debut along side Berger in midfield. M_Boadu gets his chance to claim the lone striker role and hopes for development player R_Matondo will get to show the manager his crudentials after being top goal scorer in development league.
