Valencia - Internazionale

With morale low we face another quality side so expectation is low after an already embarrassing tournament. This time we try to not lose against an unmanaged team. We have decided to give new signing van_der_werff a run out at the expense of Lovren. Still expecting more from our star-studded midfield and Innocenti up front that has been largely anonymous so far.

Juventus vs Ajax

So after great performances but disappointing results we find ourselves in the runners up pool, a trip to Juventus to play the old lady (no not Ronaldo). Onana is injured again, so Vlachodimos comes in again. It’s the same matchday squad otherwise, with another tweak in system as we tinker for the league starting.

Liverpool v AC MILAN

Our reward for winning the group > facing Liverpool in the next round.
I proved with my other team that we are capable of competing but Raingod will be determined to win a trophy tht has eluded him so far.
It's possible we will change formation in a bid to counter what they have to offer.

Marseille v WOLFSBURG

Another decent test for us and somewhat of an unknown quantity for us. A couple of fringe players may be given game time.

TOTTENHAM v Zorya

There was a 25% chance that we'd meet Raingod at this stage and so it proved to be.
The Subbuteo Cup is a chance to get some fringe players game time and see what they can do in preparation for the forthcoming season and the result is secondary. This does not mean we don't want to win though and a victory over Raingod is always pleasing. ;D

Levadia v SALZBURG

Inevitably we finished bottom of our group and get to play the team I took so close to promotion last season. This will give us an indication of how much work will be needed this season.

Benfica v Barcelona

Barcelona look to make it 5 wins in a row with new signing Demarai Gray set to play a part following the injury to Arthur in the last game.

Pressure is said to be mounting on legend Lionel Messi who is yet to score in pre season. The likes of Icardi, Werner and new signing Sadio Mane are all keen to get game time, so both Griezmann and Messi will feel the pressure to deliver.

Werewilf has already held us to a draw this pre season - so we will be on our toes!

Always tight affairs - Liverpool have never lost to AC but there has only been 1 goal or less in each game!

We make 4 changes from the Rangers victory and switch to a more traditional Liverpool formation ..

2 wins, 3 draws and a loss between us two managers in EFLO ..

Zorya have never faced Spurs ..

Raingod has dismissed Daz's talk of fringe players as mind games ... "they have one of the best squads in the league, and anything less than a comfortable victory over us and their fans should be asking questions ..."

No team news available, apart from new striker Smith-White starting on the bench ...
