Olympique_Marseille - Valencia_CF

Valencia's plans have been thrown in to chaos this week after their manager prepared all week of a rest week (being out of the cup already) believing they had a fixture against Tottenham, only to find out at the last minute that isn't the case. If a fixture against high flying Spurs would be bad enough things get worse as it is a return to the fixture that saw Valencia getting a thumping in that cup match already mentioned in Wartdog's first game! Not sure whether to laugh or cry plans are having to be hastily changed around to see how they can thwart this strong Marseille side who did so much damage in the cup match. The team is no doubt strong now, morale is higher and they have had some promising results with the past three games keeping clean sheets. Injuries and suspensions have subsided so it should be a full strength team, if indeed the manager doesn't know which eleven are the strongest! What is for sure is that the tactics employed in the last encounter are long gone with an expectation that the attacking free-flowing football that has been seen in recent weeks is set to continue.  Perhaps this time the result is a difficult one to call, or perhaps still easy to call but not as easy ..... we hope!

Olympique_Marseille - Valencia_CF

Looking forward to this match.  Not expecting it to be easy, Valencia are not the same squad we faced in the cup draw.  Being at home we really need to get 3 points, I have a feeling Marseille and Valencia will be battling for the playoff spot in our division all season.

Real_Madird - Liverpool

After a 1-0 victory over Real in the 1st pre season game, this will be a different propostition - manager JC sensationally left after 1 league game, and this will be Raingod's 1st meeting with Steve T.

'Pool go into the match on a 2 game winning run, with the team in good form.

The only change  is youngster Blair comes in for his debut at the expense of Mane, who is transfer listed.

Atalanta_BC - SK_Slavia_Prague

After defeat in the cup midweek, and Moses suspended, Atalanta revert to 4 at the back and will pack the midfield to hopefully get back to winning ways.

Slavia are there for the taking with no manager in place and we intend to attack from the outset ..

Athletico v The Mighty PSG

After the midweek fiasco, Matt Harrison made doubly sure that his Homer Simpson fingers coordinated with his brain to actually submit his team sheet. Fingers are crossed in the PSG camp that their good run of form will continue, but nothing is taken for granted. Athletico Madrid might sit bottom of the league, but on paper they have a formidable team and Matt Harrison is continuing with his policy of playing his youngsters rather than the more skilful established stars. Does he have any idea what he’s doing? The jury is still out....
