FC BASEL 1-0 Chelsea

After the mid-season break it is good to come back with a win.  This lifts us up into mid-table after a bad start to the season.
Hopefully this shows that we are able to compete at this level.

Benfica 2-0 AC MILAN

After leading the table at the halfway point we have been given a kick up the arse.  I suppose our form couldn't go on forever but losing to Benfica!!
With rivals Lazio winning in France they now have the advantage at the top of the table.

Villarreal 3 - 1 Valencia

Not sure what happened in this game as we were completely outplayed and deserved to lose. Perhaps a hangover from the World Club Trophy victory in the week or else it psychologically affected us when Innocenti went off in the first half. His replacement Rapadori scored the only goal in a game that we were never in control of and deserved to lose. Let's just hope this was a one-off and we get back to winning ways next game. It also scuppers warthogs chances of his first ever manager of the month award.

Atletico Madrid 1 - 0 Ajax

Not wholly convincing but great to get a win so pleased with this result. A good clean sheet too but we still struggle to score goals in the league which doesn't really matter if we can win games. Joćo Felix scored the only goal of the game near the end of the game which we'll happily take when it seemed like th match was going to end in stalemate.

not the comeback i wanted a pathetic result and performance i have a lot of work to do to get this team winning after this utd slump to the bottom of the league and thats just what they deserve

Plucky PSG put in a good performance to hold Liverpool to a draw.

"This was probably their cup final, playing us on their turf for the last time before their inevitable relegation. Hope they had a good day out ..."

After the euphoria of the WCT performances, we were a bit stale today ..Strakosha was our MOM, and Izconil had another good game on the right wing ..

Neymar came off the bench to spare us the potential embarassment of a loss ... and changes will be made for midweek ...

We keep the pressure on Galatasaray at the top with another win, while BATE drop points ..

A close match, we simply wanted it more - a Lopes rocket finally gave us the lead on 73 mins ..

A professional foul on 78 saw a red for them and a penalty for us which was despatched clinically by Pekhart- game over!

Performances still not good enough - and Mbappe was seen storming out of the ground after another feeble performance and a meeting in the manager's office (is he a spy from Harrison's camp to try and undermine the great work Raingod is doing??)

PSG 1 v 1 Liverpool

A very good performance and result for the PSG youngsters, who were only undone by old-boy Neymar coming on as a sub and scoring an equaliser. Another goal for Idriss Fares, who now has 11 in 13 games, and another assist by 16 year-old Rayan Cheriki, were the most pleasing aspects for Matt Harrison. Even though draws won't be enough to save them from the drop, more performances like this will help.

Talking about help, Matt Harrison publicly thanked Mbappe for sneaking into Raingod's office and Whatsapping the Liverpool team sheet. Made selecting tactics so much easier!
