A win to finish off the season but relegation is the result. In truth I knew we would struggle in this league as out squad was never good enough. Even the few signings we made had a limited impact.

Inter 3-0 AC MILAN

What the hell!
We were top at the half-way point and Inter were 6th but a poor second half of the season has meant we finish the season out of the promotion places.  If this game had finished 2-0 we would have gone up on goals scored but the late 3rd goal turned promotion on it's head.
Disappointed.

What a tense end to the season, with the table changing several times throughout the 90 mins ...

The permutations were:
Galatasaray win or draw - the league is theirs
Gala lose and Warsaw win - we are champs ...UNLESS Bate beat Galatasary by better GD than we win
BATE can overtake us and take runner up spot too...

We left it very late - at 2-0 down, BATE would overtake us - results identical - BATE had the better record vs us!

Lopes - the forgotten man of the forward line with so mnay new signings this season, stepped up and put his name in Warsaw history books!!

Sanchez scored in the first minute to set the tone for the match.  Bate managed to equalize but Galatasaray was not to be denied the league on this day.  Delighted for this squad, they have made a cup final and won their league.

PSG 0 v 1 Barcelona

Disappointing end as the PSG pups couldn't get the win that their performance deserved. 9 shots on target, but for the second time this season ter-Stergen was like a wall in the Barca goal. PSG have maybe deserved more this season, having lost several games despite having a better Xg, but Matt Harrison has just put it all down to experience. The youngsters will come back stronger for it!

Real Madrid 0 Liverpool 5

No idea how this happened and subsequently even less idea how we manage to claw onto 4th place in the table and claim a WLT place.
Some pre-season rebuilding required and hoping that end of season aging is kind to us.
