Liverpool 2 - Real_Madrid 1

A great game vs top quality opposition - with 11 shots to 6 we deserved it but they made it hard for us - unlucky Mike!

We opted for an unchanged line for probably the 1st time in our history .. to build on the strong midweek performance ..

Youngster Nuwedorp has really settled at the club after a quiet first 2 games - and scored with a blistering shot just before half time ..

.. we switched off though and allowed ex player Firminho to score a great goal immediately ..

A Dele Alli run and shot resulted in our winner on 53 following a challenging half time team talk!

VVD was our MOM with an assured performance at the back, but only half the team performed to standard ..

So we top the league at the halfway stage, level on points with Roma .. at this stage last season we were 2 points clear at the top!
