A Saka red on his debut will be appealed - and Raingod was protective of him - "he's 18 and hasnt been playing regularly at the level below - he will be a great asset for us in the long term"

5 games in, and although we have the strongest team on paper, we are yet to really gel performance wise - with no cup game midweek due to a bye, it allows us the full week to prepare for the next league game - against table toppers Juve ....

Dundalk 0 - 2 Valencia

As expected, a pretty comfortable trip to Ireland where we were never in trouble. A goal in each half from Gotze and Innocenti allows us to retain our lead at the top of the table. No injuries or suspensions are pleasing but with another quality youngster due to arrive at the club shortly we really have strength in depth at the moment. That being said, it is perhaps a bit inbalanced as the defence could do with some more cover so we'll either look to dip back in to the transfer market or else look to swap one of our abundance of midfielders.
