I KNEW this would be a tough ask and so it proved it didnt help that i had one of my best players out but liverpool were just to strong for us as we are not at there level yet i hate losing especally to a rival but i have to think about the bigger picture as i am still rebuilding my team up and time to concentrate on the league now  sorry about the conditional errors i am on nights so very tired

Lazio 1-1 Ajax (Ajax win on penalties 3-4)

This was a tense one! Having took the lead and played some great football, Lazio earned their equaliser. With 4 invites to go, super sub Lucas Moura looked like he’d scored the winner, only for the referee to disallow it, Moura then spurned a glorious chance in stoppage time and it was a shootout for the semi finals…..

Ajax dispatched all four penalties and after the first Lazio miss the pressure was always on. In the cup we never fancied doing much in, we now move onto the semi finals!

Althugh we deserved it, Stocko made it hard for us .. and we went behind to an Auba' goal .. before a quick Neymar equaliser!

A low drive from Salah won it, but performances were mixed and we will ring the changes for the next league game ..
